Food Medicine...Medicine Food?

"Let your food be your medicine and your medicine your food" (Hippocrates,460-370BC)

Research shows that women over 20 years old start losing collagen everyday faster than the formation of new collagen.

By the age of 40, women’s collagen is less than half of that at 18 years old!

With aging, the oxygen supply to our cells starts to decline, which makes our bodies more susceptible to many diseases and fatigue.

Omegas are essential fatty acids which the skin cells cell membrane is 100% dependant on to be healthy, therefore assisting in skin barrier
function, improving dry skin and trans epidermal water loss. They are key when seeking that youthful healthy glow.

Omega-3 found in fish oil is beneficial for many skin and body related issues.

It reduces joint pain and inflammation.
If you take Aspirin or Ibuprofen to reduce joint pain, you should add fish oil to your regimen. Why? Because the newest
research shows that you’ll need less pain meds when you take fish oil.

I have personally found this extremely effective with joint pain and inflammation in fingers and hands.

Skin & Complexion- Once again, it’s the Omega-3 to Omega-6 balance that provides the real benefit.

Omega-3 is the healing fat of the skin. Too much Omega-6 fats make your skin red, puffy and
problematic. Here’s the trick to beautiful skin that late-night tv adds never tell you:

1. Reduce Omega-6 fats from your diet
2. Increase Omega-3 fats in your diet

Just taking a fish oil pill will not get rid of breakout – you need to cut out Omega-6 fats first – usual
culprits are whole milk, fried foods and any snack food that contains corn or soy oils.

It is for this reason a supplement is almost always required to improve the appearance of skin, hair and nails.

With that we sourced the Skintrition range. Consisting of only 3 different supplements, 4in1 Bio Collagen and EFAS Max Complex (1000MG).

Spirulina is also part of this range a super food more potent than any other food- but we will save that for another day....
